The Pretoria Art Museum in Arcadia was established in the 1930's to house the city counsel's art collection.

Today it houses numerous permanent and travelling art exhibitions. Guided Tours are available, and the Information Centre is a valuable source of information for people doing research in the visual arts.

There is also a children's gallery designed to teach children the basic elements of art.

The Pretoria Art Museum is open from Tuesday through to Sunday, from 10:00 to 17:00.
