Formerly known as the Transvaal Museum, the Ditsong National Museum of Natural History was founded as the Staatsmuseum in 1892. The museum's collection and exhibitions include a vast collection of fossils, skeletons, stuffed animals and various kinds of stones

Of particular interest at the Transvaal Museum is the Austin Roberts Bird Hall, which contains a vast collection of Southern African birds along with brief information about each one.

Open daily from 08:00 till 16:00, except on Christmas Day and Good Friday.
